The construction of RSAA' s Tianjin NO4 Middle School is about to start. In 2012, out of several entries, RSAA won the first place of the competition. 2015, the fourth year of this project, the construction finally expects to break ground by year-end. Through several rounds of modification, 70% of the RSAA's initial design has been maintained.

Learning needs to allow many different perspectives, access routes and results.

Learning happens alone, in pairs, in small groups, within a class group, within a grade and across all age groups.  

The canteen and corridor as important public space for communication, interaction and mutual study

A day of school includes learning, exercise, playing, running around, relax, talk, eat and much more-in a healthy rhythm. 

Thesis 4 

Promotion and educational support in an inclusive school happens in heterogeneous groups. 

Integrated layout with multiple functions along one axis encouraging intercommunication, and after-school activities

Cultural and aesthetic experience will be mediated by pedagogy and architecture.

The school opens to the city-the city opens to the school.
